GOOTY: Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi has alleged that the ruling party is removing the names of young voters from the electoral rolls with the fear that they will vote for the PR. He cautioned the youth to be alert in this regard and told them to enrol their names, if found missing from the lists. He was speaking to a huge crowd gathered here on the last day of his Praja Ankita Yatra on Tuesday. He urged the crowd to transform the support being shown to him into votes during elections. Stating that the present leaders in politics are only helping themselves, he said entered politics to serve people. At Kalluru, the PR leader said he did not know politics but knew sharing people’s problems and working for their redressal. The government that often boasts itself of being farmers’ saviour has failed to provide quality groundnut seed and fertilizer in time. As a result ryots are suffering heavy losses. Instead of getting 10 bags of groundnut per acre, they were hardly getting two, he said. A massive crowd at Yadiki dared heavy rain and waited for Chiranjeevi for hours. At Garladinne, he called upon the youth to maintain restraint at his road shows. He promised all assistance to the families of the youth who were killed at Dharmavaram on Monday. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
