Medico suspended from hostel

WARANGAL: A final year medical student of Kakatiya Medical College, Aswin Kumar, was suspended from the hostel for sneaking into the women’s hostel late on Monday night and embarrassing the inmates there.

According to the students, Kumar sneaked into the room of his girlfriend and did not come out for long.

The embarrassed inmates of the hostel locked him up and informed the college authorities. As no official turned up, they also informed mediapersons.

When the college authorities opened the lock in the early hours in the presence of the electronic media, he came out and jumped from the building.

He argued that he had an affair with a third year student and they were planning to get married soon. The inmates of the hostel wanted to harass him and hence locked him up, he alleged.

KMC principal T Surender suspended the student from the hostel and also the two security guards who were on duty at the girls’ hostel on charges of dereliction of duties.

Meanwhile, girls’ hostel warden Sandhya Rani said a case was registered against Aswin Kumar at Matwada police station on charges of ragging junior students four months ago.
