“Congress communalising terrorism”

Special Correspondent

LUCKNOW: Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday accused the Congress of communalising the issue of terrorism, and said this was being done to divert the people’s attention from the UPA government’s ‘failure on all fronts.’

Charging the Congress with complete failure to control terror, the BJP president said it was unfortunate that the term ‘Hindu terrorism’ was being used in the context of the Malegaon blasts.

Mr. Singh told a press conference that the BJP was against ‘communalisation’ of terrorism. Terrorism should not be linked to any religion. He denied that the BJP had coined the term ‘Muslim terrorism.’

The BJP chief attacked the Congress and the ‘so-called’ secular parties for their silence on the use of the term ‘Hindu terrorism.’

By calling terrorism as ‘Hindu terrorism’ versus ‘Muslim terrorism,’ the Congress and the ‘so-called’ secular parties were trying to gain political mileage, he said.
