Do not assist Lanka: MDMK

KARUR: MDMK cadres staged a protest fast here on Tuesday to condemn the Central Government for assisting the Sri Lankan Government which they claimed was “indulging in genocide of Eelam Tamils”.

The fast organised in front of the Taluk Office here on the Jawahar Bazar was inaugurated by the party steering committee member M. Kattaiyan.

The party steering committee convener P. Kumarasamy presided over the protest in which several leaders including town secretary P.K. Thangaraj, Kulithalai Municipality vice-chairman Pallaviraja, and others participated.

Former MLA and Political Affairs Committee member Monjanur P. Ramasamy offered juice to the participants to mark the conclusion of the fast.
