Stay on coal supply

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday continued an earlier interim order it had given staying a notification by the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) relating to supply of coal on an emergency basis to the Raichur Thermal Power Plant (RTPS). Knowledge Infrastructure, a Vishakapatnam-based company, had petitioned the court after its tender for the supply of coal to RTPS was rejected. The company claimed that its tender was rejected on flimsy grounds and the tender awarded to MMTC. Justice N.K. Patil adjourned further hearing of the matter. — Staff Reporter
