Anand sparkles

KOCHI: Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, defeated host Sacred Heart CMI Public School 56-46 and won the Fr. George Koyikara Endowment inter-school basketball tournament at Thevara on Wednesday.

S. Anand, who was later adjudged as the tournament’s best player, topscored for Bhavan’s with 29 points while Sibin Thomas (20) and Samson James (18) led the tally for Sacred Heart.

Samson James emerged as the tournament’s highest scorer with 63 points while Sacred Heart’s Sibin Thomas was selected as the most promising player.

Fr. Johnson Vazhappilly, Corporate Manager, Sacred Heart Institutions, gave away the prizes. — Principal Correspondent
