India plays Pakistan in series opener

New Delhi: ICL India will take on defending champion ICL Pakistan, led by Inzamam-ul-Haq, in the opening match of the ICL 20s World Series at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 23.

The young Indian side, to be captained by R. Satish, will play its next round-robin league match against ICL Bangladesh, to be led by former skipper Habibur Bashar, on November 26.

The fourth team in fray, ICL World, under Kiwi Chris Harris, will play its first match in the four-team tournament against ICL Bangladesh on November 24. The top two teams will qualify for the summit clash on November 29.

The tournament offers a prize purse of Rs. 2.74 crore. The winner stands to gain Rs. 1.25 crore and runner-up Rs. 75 lakh. Winners of each match will get Rs. 10 lakh while the Man of the Match will be richer by Rs. 2 lakh.
