THANJAVUR: Thirty-eight women self-help group members belonging to Dhan foundation attended a saree printing training given by the Indian Overseas Bank at its Rural Training Centre here for two days recently, according to a press release issued here on Tuesday. A.M. Venkatesa Prasad, Senior Regional Manager, IOB, inaugurated the programme. During the valedictory function, R. Baskaran, Chief Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Regional Office, Thanjavur, distributed certificates to the trainees. S.T. Ravikumar, Assistant General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Vetriselvan, Lead District Manager, participated in the valedictory function. According to S. Karthkikeyan, Director, RTC, the bank has been offering various practical training programmes to SHG members, farmers, artisans, etc. The idea was to empower them and enrich them through the Rural Training Centre.
