Poll roll revision till November 25

TIRUCHI: Applications for inclusions, deletions and corrections in the electoral rolls as part of the revision exercise being carried out currently with January 1as the qualifying date could be submitted till November 25.

Applications seeking inclusions, deletions or corrections could be submitted in the relevant forms to the respective Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or polling stations, Collector T. Soundiah said in a press release.

Applicants including those who attain 18 years of age as on January 1, 2009 (those born on or before December 31, 1990) will be eligible for inclusion.

A special camp to receive the applications would be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 23. Complaints have been received by the Election Commission regarding the absence of the designated officials in some of the polling stations during the special camp held on November 16.

Stern action would be taken against officials who are found absent during the camp on November 23, he said.
