Salary of cooperative staff raised in Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday announced an increase in the monthly remuneration of the employees of primary agriculture cooperative societies.

He also directed the State Cooperative Department to institute a new award for the best cooperator to honour him with a cash award of Rs.1 lakh on next year’s Cooperative Day. Addressing the Cooperative Day function in Sonepat, he said the monthly remuneration of salesmen and clerks in these societies would be increased from Rs.5,000 to 6,750 and of the chowkidars and peons from Rs.3,500 to 4,750. Appreciating the important role played by the cooperative movement in ushering in green revolution in the country in general and in Haryana in particular, he said the responsibilities of the cooperative societies had further increased with new research and inventions in the agriculture sector.
