CHENNAI: Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss called upon the State government to form an experts’ committee on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Dr. Ramadoss, who addressed a public meeting at Villivakkam here, said the panel would chalk out an action plan of preparing appropriate documents and submitting them to the United Nations through the Centre. Political conferences and a series of civil society debates should be organised in the State and New Delhi to create greater awareness on the issue, Dr. Ramadoss said. Calling for public and political opinion in the State in support of the Tamils’ case, the PMK leader sought the involvement of Tamil Diaspora, particularly the community living in the United Kingdom, the United States and France, in resolving the issue. Seeks Assembly meetHe wanted the Assembly to meet exclusively to discuss the issue and adopt a resolution. Another all-party meeting should also be convened. Media services should be enlisted for widespread dissemination of the plight of the Tamils, he added. On Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Ramadoss submitted a set of proposals to Chief Minister M.
