Miandad gets a new post

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday appointed former captain and coach Javed Miandad as Director General.

Miandad said his responsibilities will include working closely with the selection committee and see how Pakistan can improve its standings in the International Cricket Council’s ratings.

“The main purpose of my appointment is to look after the cricketing affairs in the (cricket) board,” said Miandad.

“It’s good that the new chairman of the board (Ejaz Butt) is inducting former Test cricketers in the PCB.

“I hope it would benefit Pakistan cricket in the future,” Miandad said.— AP
