Demonstration

Udhagamandalam: Members of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA), Ooty chapter staged a demonstration opposite the Collectorate here on Thursday.

It was in response to a call given by the All India State Government Employees Sammelan.

The demands included reduction in the prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities; action to stop the killing of innocent people by terrorists and those advocating separatism and fanning regional emotions.

The demonstrators also wanted the move to reduce the number of government employees to be dropped.
