Award for journalist

KOCHI: Cicy Jacob, a sub editor with the Kozhikode unit of Mathrubhumi daily was awarded the second Leela Menon Award for Excellence in Journalism, at a function organised at the Ernakulam Press Club on Thursday. Jury member Sarada Rajeevan, psychiatrist and a faculty member of Cusat, and Ms Menon spoke at the function. Ms Cicy got the award for her feature on post-mortem ‘Marananandaram’ (after death). The award carries Rs.5,001, a sculpture and citation. — Staff Reporter
