Vent of old Pothireddypadu regulator collapses

KURNOOL: The counter vent of old head regulator of Pothireddypadu collapsed on Thursday. Out of four, one vent was under repair and the second one also broke down. The irrigation officials said they would not be in a position to operate the gate if water is to be released to the Srisailam Right Main Canal.

The head regulator would be abandoned altogether once the new regulator is ready. However, completion of new regulator would take time. According to reports, the old structure got damaged under the impact of blasts for new regulator work.
