HYDERABAD: Goli Sushma, a woman from Hyderabad, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the store-room of her house at North Ridge City near Los Angeles in the United States. The twentyfour-year-old Sushma, who was a resident of Himayathnagar, married Goli Suresh Babu on April 2006 and was staying in the U.S. for the past one year. Although Harika and Sushma were regularly in touch over phone, there was no communication between them for the last three days. Concerned about Sushma’s safety, Harika visited her house only to find her dead in the store-room, said Sushma’s father Vemula Kanakarajam, a retired Assistant Engineer. No responseHe said that his son-in-law was giving incoherent replies when asked how the death had occurred. Harika too tried to reach Suresh Babu, a software engineer, over phone, but there was no response from him, it was said. The victim’s mother, Bhagya, said that her daughter used to call often. However, there were no calls in the last few days. Relatives, who gathered at the apartment complex where the victim’s parents were staying, have charged the husband with harassing her for more dowry.
