SALEM: School educators should bring in creative thinking and a culture of innovation in the classrooms, thus, enabling the students to survive and succeed in the rapidly changing environment in the world, All India National Association of Catholics Schools (AINACS) National President Sr. Anne Tresa has said. She was addressing a gathering of educators and heads of schools on the topic of ‘Strategic role of educational heads in the current milieu,’ organised by the AINACS, Tamil Nadu, at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, here on Friday. The methodology had to change to bring in creativity in school education, she stressed. The present system of education crushes students’ zest and curiosity. They are being fed with information instead of knowledge. This renders a majority of the students unable to think laterally or out-of-the-box, she pointed out. A student today is required to be more creative to face challenges in his/her life. The preparation for this should begin in schools and the heads of the schools have a bigger role to play in this, she added. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
