‘Regularise services of daily wage workers’

Special Correspondent

GULBARGA: The Karnataka State Daily Wage Workers’ Union has given time till December 10 to the Government to initiate measures such as framing of special recruitment rules to regularise services of over 17,000 daily wage employees in different departments.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, president of the union Chandrasekhar Hiremath warned that the union, which had suspended its agitation an year ago following assurance from the Government that it would consider their demands, would revive the agitation from December 11 if the Government failed to take steps to regularise services of daily wage employees.

The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association had extended its support to the demand for regularisation of services of daily wage workers, he said.
