RBI staff strike on Dec. 1 & 2

HYDERABAD: Officers and Employees of the Reserve Bank of India have decided to intensify their protest against the withdrawal of the scheme for updating of pension and go on mass casual leave on December 1 and 2.

As a prelude to the two-day strike, the officials under the banner of United Forum of Reserve Bank Officers and Employees held lunch-time demonstrations and gate meetings on RBI premises on Friday.

Addressing the meeting, leaders of various associations called for continuation of the scheme, which was being extended to lakhs of pensioners by Central Government and various State Governments. Criticising the Government and RBI for withdrawing it, they said the retired employees would be put to a loss.
