Magadi MLA opposes land acquisition

Bangalore: H.C. Balakrishna, Janata Dal (Secular) legislator representing Magadi, has expressed his opposition to the Government providing land to the RSS at Tavarakere hobli near Channenahalli on the Magadi Main road.

Mr. Balakrishna told presspersons here on Friday that nine acres of land, which had been earmarked for constructing houses to the poor under the Ashraya scheme, was now sought to be made over to the Janaseva Vidya Kendra of the RSS. Pressure had been exerted on the Special Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore Urban district to make a suitable recommendation to grant the land to the RSS, he alleged.
