Semifinalists spotted

KANNUR: Three teams from Chennai — Madras, SRM and Anna — and holder Kannur entered the semifinals of the all-India inter-university women’s volleyball championship here on Friday.

The results (preliminary league):

Pool ‘A’: Anna bt Kurukshetra 24-26, 25-14, 25-14, 26-28, 18-16; Kannur bt Punjabi 25-13, 25-14, 25-14; Kannur bt Anna 25-17, 25-9, 25-23; Kurukshetra bt Punjabi 25-19, 25-22, 16-25, 26-24. Pool ‘B’: Madras bt Punjab 25-15, 25-20, 24-26, 25-12; SRM bt Calcutta 25-7, 25-12, 25-18.
