Proceedings against Naidu stayed

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice A.R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy on Friday stayed the proceedings against TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in the cases filed by the Election Commission regarding the speeches just before the polling in the bypolls held recently in the State. The petitioner told the court that he had attended a public meeting in Krishna district to celebrate the birth anniversary of N. T. Rama Rao. He said that the officers claimed that this violated the election code.

The Bench posted the matter with other similar cases wherein proceedings against TV channels and the Chief Minister were already stayed.
