Bangalore: Albert Brunner, Chief Executive Officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has quit, preferring not to extend his contract with the company. BIAL’s promoters have nominated Marcel Hungerbuehler, Chief Operations Officer of BIAL, as the new CEO with effect from February 1, 2009, according to a company release. Mr. Brunner has been the CEO since 2002. Mr. Brunner played a key role in the negotiations leading to the signing of the concession agreement between the Government of India and BIAL.
