Blasts rock Lahore

ISLAMABAD: At least three people were injured in a series of three blasts in Lahore on Saturday night. The blasts took place outside the Alhamra Arts Council complex, where a performing arts festival is under way. A large contingent of Indians is participating in the 10-day festival known as the World Festival of the Performing Arts. The festival was due to end on Sunday. Television footage showed panic and confusion as police and emergency services tried to take charge. — Nirupama Subramanian
