Police to register case against guardian of a student

BHUBANESWAR: City police have decided to register a case against guardian of a student, who had gone missing from hostel of a city-based college, on charges of supplying false information to investigating officers.

The case suddenly revolved around the missing of a 17-year-old Adarsh Mohapatra, who was staying in hostel of KIIT Science College, from November 13. He was the son of a city-based real estate developer.

Soon after his missing, Dillip Pati, student’s maternal uncle filed a complaint with Chandrasekharpur Police station. In a bid to expedite the investigation process, Mr. Pati allegedly put out different stories. Even he had informed the police that family members had received ransom calls from a gang who threatened to make the student anti-social if money was not paid to them.

Contrary to all hypes, the student along with a friend was seen returning to city from Chennai after holidaying for good 10 days.

Police intercepted teens at Jatni Railway station. They were produced in court on Sunday.
