Rain to continue in city

CHENNAI: The city and its suburbs experienced rain on Sunday due to the trough of low pressure over South West Bay and adjoining West Central Bay off Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu and South Andhra coast.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Meenambakkam received 22.8 mm of rainfall in the 12 hour period ending 8.30 p.m. on Sunday. Nungambakkam registered 5.6 mm of rainfall in the same period.

Weather officials have forecast cloudy skies with a possibility of a few spells of rain or thundershowers for the next 24 hours.
