Tottenham breathes easy

LONDON: Tottenham climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone as Roman Pavlyuchenko clinched a 1-0 win over 10-man Blackburn on Sunday.

Pavlyuchenho struck early at White Hart Lane and Tottenham’s task was made easier when Blackburn defender Martin Olsson was sent off before half-time for two fouls in quick succession on Aaron Lennon.

The results: Tottenham 1 (Pavlyuchenko 9) bt Blackburn 0; West Ham United 1 (Valon Behrami 20) bt Sunderland 0.
