HYDERABAD: The alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Sheik Abdul Jabbar, who was arrested by the police on Saturday was taken to Kerala on Sunday afternoon for further interrogation. His arrest was carried out by police officials from Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Jabbar of Malappuram in Kerala was staying at his relatives’ residence at Ismailnagar in Bandlaguda for the last two months. He was one of the five alleged terrorists from Kerala. Four of them were gunned down by the security forces in Kashmir in October last. Jabbar suffered injuries and managed to escape during an encounter in Kashmir. He was taking shelter at his relatives’ house, as a nation-wide hunt was launched against him by the Intelligence Bureau a few weeks ago. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
