HYDERABAD: The A.P. Teachers’ Federation on Sunday demanded scrapping of the bifurcation of School Education Directorate and immediate finalisation of promotions and transfers of teachers on a temporary basis. The executive of the federation which met here with K. Venugopal, president, in the chair, described division of the School Education Directorate and merger of the Intermediate and School Education as part of the government efforts to privatise the education sector. Hence it demanded its scrapping. Unified service rulesThe meeting demanded temporary promotions/transfers as part of the proposed unified service rules and filling of all vacant posts. It wanted the government to implement the agreement reached on November 3 after discussions between Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and teachers’ organisations. Meanwhile, the A.P. State Teachers’ Union in a statement on Sunday said over 3,000 teachers should not be appointed as mandal resource persons on deputation. A. Laxman, president, and K.
