Poetry enhances love for life, says writer

Correspondent

SIRSI: “Writing or reading poetry enhances love for life. Love of poetry makes one human and he will not be dangerous to humanity,” said litterateur H.S. Venkateshmurthy at the Rotary Hall here on Sunday.

He was speaking on “Nanna Dristiyalli Kavya Sristi’ at Kavyanusandhana programme held under the auspices of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Sirsi, in collaboration with Kavi Kavya Balaga, Chutuku Sahitya Parishat and Rotary Club. “There is a vision behind every creation. A poet expresses his experience in his poetry. Poetry involves deep involvement. Poetry is sublime.

“Poetry is beyond mere seeing and speaking. In the creation of poetry, the poet’s experiences are set in order,” Dr. Venkateshmurthy said.

Anant Padmanabha, vice-president of Rotary Club, Sirsi, said that “literature has the taste of nectar to those who have the habit of reading, and also a contemplating mind.”
