Scholarships, cash awards distributed to students, teachers

Recognition: A student receiving scholarship at the Awards Nite programme conducted by the Malco Vidyalaya MHSS in Mettur.

METTUR: The Malco Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School has presented a sum of Rs. 6.25 lakh as scholarships and awards to 311 students and teachers at the ‘awards nite’ programme held on its premises recently.

Director of Matriculation Schools P. Mani, participating in the programme, presented the Sterlite scholarship of Rs. 15,000 each to 13 students who completed their Plus II at the school and joined engineering courses in merit quota.

The scholarship was instituted by MALCO Chairman Navin Agarwal.

The Vedanta Merit Scholarship of Rs. 5,000 each was distributed to 26 matriculation toppers.

Academic excellence cash awards were presented to 145 students. A total of 68 students received cash awards under the Kalaimagal Kalvi Ukka Thittam and 22 students under the Malco Educational Trust Cash awards. Endowment prizes were distributed to 22 students.

Cash awards to the tune of Rs. 2 lakh were presented to the teachers handling the matriculation and higher secondary classes.

Mr. Mani, speaking on the occasion, urged the students to work with dedication and aim high. MALCO Chief Executive Officer Suresh Rathi, presiding over the programme, congratulated the students for their achievements.

Head (Finance) C. Prabhakaran, Head (Human Resource) Suresh Bose, Inspector of Matriculation School (in-charge) V. Prabhakaran and School Principal S. Ganapathiraman spoke.
