Policeman arrested for stealing auto

Tiruvannamalai: Pachaiyappan (48), a policeman attached to the Tiruvannamalai police control room has been arrested for allegedly stealing an autorickshaw parked on town police station premises. According to police sources, the autorickshaw was seized by police from an offender and parked on the Tiruvannamalai town police station. On Sunday, Pachaiyappan allegedly hired a bullock cart and mounted the autorickshaw on it. Arumugam, another policeman, intercepted the vehicle. Later, he filed a complaint with town crime branch police who arrested Pachaiyappan. — Staff Reporter
