Directive to Police Commissioner

MADURAI: The Madras High Court Bench here has directed the Madurai Police Commissioner to give protection to A. Pandi, president of the Cable Operators’ Guild, who alleged that his association members were being coerced to receive cable signals from Royal Cable Vision instead of Sumangali Cable Vision.

Disposing of a writ petition filed by him, Justice G. Rajasuria also directed the Commissioner to take necessary action on the basis of a complaint lodged by the petitioner on November 1. “No police station in Madurai is accepting our complaint; instead they are instructing us to receive the cable signals from RCV,” the petitioner alleged. — Special Correspondent
