Life sentence for murder accused

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A Fast Track Court here on Monday sentenced B. Panchukalai of Chinna Perali near here to life term and six others to two years rigorous imprisonment in a murder case. The judge, Prabhudass, however, acquitted one of the accused. According to the prosecution, a group of armed persons picked up a quarrel with one R. Ravindran (25) when the married man tried to secretly meet a local girl. The girl’s father, Ramachandran, had objected to it. The wordy quarrel turned worse and Ramachandran’s brother Panchukalai attacked Ravindran’s father-in-law, P. Mahalingam, killing him on December 8, 2006.
