Gang of robbers arrested

BANGALORE: In a major breakthrough, the Sampigehalli police on Monday claimed to have busted an inter-State gang of robbers, against whom eight cases of robbery and dacoity have been registered. “A gang of five men, including some from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, barged into several houses in the recent past and looted goods and jewellery worth several lakh of rupees. They used to threaten women who were alone at knife-point,” said a senior police official in North East Division, who confirmed the arrest.
