CHENNAI: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will conduct an essay contest in Tamil and English for children in classes IV to XII as part of popularising currency management and clean bank note policy. The topics are “My Story-as narrated by a bank note” for the junior level (500 words), “Currency Note-Handle with care” for middle level (1,000 words) and “Countering the Counterfeit Notes” for senior level (1,500 words). The schools are required to collect the essays from students and forward it duly certified to the Regional Director, RBI, Fort Glacis, 16, Rajaji Salai, Chennai–1 super-scribing on the envelope “Currency Management-Essay Competition.” The last date for receipt of entries is December 5. Cash prizes of Rs.5,000, Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000 will be awarded to the top three entries in all categories. Children of RBI employees are not eligible to participate.
