Sri Lankan fishermen apprehended

CHENNAI: The Coast Guard apprehended five fishermen of Sri Lanka who were fishing in the sea near Mahabalipuram on Monday. Police said the Coast Guard personnel intercepted a mechanised boat and took into custody Don Ranjith (38), Sathya Shyam (38), Varagula Suriya (42), Rankjith Dharna Thilaga (41) and Douglas (49).

They were handed over to the Kasimedu police. — Special Correspondent
