Coimbatore: A record clerk at the north taluk office was trapped ‘redhanded’ by the sleuths of the Directorate of Anti-vigilance and Corruption on Monday. According to V. Mohan Karthik of Thottipalayam, the record clerk Mariappan demanded a bribe of Rs. 5,000 to issue revenue certificate pertaining to his land. He preferred a complain with the DVAC. Mohan Karthik handed over the money in the evening at the office and the sleuths caught Mariappan ‘redhanded’. A case has been registered in this connection. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
