John, Kailash bowl well

KOCHI: John Chacko (four for 13) and Kailash Nair (three for 10) helped host Cochin Refineries School ‘A’ defeat Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor, by six wickets and enter the semifinals of the Refinian Cup inter-school cricket tournament at Ambalamugal on Tuesday.

In another quarterfinal, Tripunithura’s Chinmaya Vidyalaya crushed Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir (Elamakkara) by eight wickets.

The scores: Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya, Velloor 82 in 18 overs (Johny Chacko four for 13, Kailash Nair three for 10) lost to Cochin Refineries School ‘A’, Ambalamugal 86 for four in 15 overs.

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara 97 for nine in 20 overs (K. S. Arjun four for 29) lost to Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura 100 for two in 14 overs. — Principal Correspondent
