Identity cards for handicraft artisans

MADURAI: Handicraft artisans wishing to avail themselves of identity card and various benefits given to them can apply to the Small Industries Product Promotion Organisation office here before Friday.

According to a press release, the benefits offered include health insurance under Rajiv Gandhi Shilpi Swasthya Bima Yojna (RGSSBY), assistance for artisans’ children’s studying between standard IX and XII, opportunities to take part in fairs held across the country and Artisans Credit Card with a limit of Rs.25,000.
