WIGAN (England): Senegalese international Henri Camara’s 51st minute goal gave Wigan a much-needed win over Everton here on Monday in their Premier League clash and lifted it out of the relegation places. His goal means that Wigan gains a bit of breathing space in the relegation battle and that Newcastle descends back into the bottom three. Despite the victory, Wigan manager Steve Bruce was not happy. “It was arguably one of our worst performances this season — we have played better and lost,” said the former Manchester United stalwart. “I was hoping for more from us but it was a poor performance,” said the ever frank David Moyes, the Everton manager. — AFP © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
