Sumeet Sanghvi picks up three titles

Chennai: Sumeet H. Sanghvi claimed three men’s titles — in air pistol, standard pistol and centre fire Pistol — at the Chennai Rifle Club member’s rifle and pistol shooting competition held here on Sunday.

The results: Air Rifle (Peep sight): 1. Shabbira Fathima, 2. Aadesh K. Chetty, 3. G. Lakshminarain.

Air Pistol: Men: 1. Sumeet H. Sanghvi, 2. S. Sudhakar, 3. V. Karthisekar.

Jr. Men: 1. R. Muthukumaran, 2. R. Deepak, 3. I. Abilash.

Women: 1. Dr. W. Mahalakshmi, 2. M. Jahnavi, 3. C.V. Vinitha.

Jr. Women: 1. T. Valli, 2. N. Barathi, 3. V. Vani.

Referees Instructors course ends

The three-day AIFF Referees Instructors course ended here on Tuesday with each of the 28 referees who had attended the course making an assessment of the senior division match held at the Nehru stadium.

“We will be sending our report on the performance of the referees to the federation,” said Anthony D’ Costa, an AFC instructor.

D’ Costa, along with Milan Dutta (Vice-Chairman, AIFF Referees Board), Michael Andrews (AFC instructor) and J. Ravishankar (AIFF instructor and coordinator) had conducted the course.
