One held in fake currency case

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Crime Branch arrested one person wanted in a counterfeit currency case for last one-and-a-half years. The accused was identified as Abbas, 40, of Perumbavoor. Perumbavoor police registered a case against him on March 28, 2007 for trying to transact fake currency notes of denominations Rs. 500 and Rs. 100 at Perumbavoor. The case was later handed over to the Crime Branch.
