Hitender was murdered while he was returning home from a function NEW DELHI: Two young men allegedly involved in the murder of a contractor with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi at Najafgarh here on November 9 have been arrested. Around midnight on November 9 the police received information that contractor Hitender Dagar had been brought dead at Narayani Hospital in Najafgarh. They found his car with blood-soaked seats in his colony along with two live bullets. Investigations revealed that Hitender was murdered while he was returning home after attending a function. Around midnight when he entered the narrow lane two vehicles blocked his way from the front and rear and he was shot dead at point-blank range. The police found that Hitender had relations with several women. They zeroed in on Darshan Dabas, whose wife was allegedly being harassed by the contractor. He was picked up on Sunday for questioning. During interrogation, Darshan purportedly confessed to having murdered Hitender in connivance with Naveen Deswal and Manish. He allegedly killed Hitender as the latter had been making unsolicited phone calls to his wife. Darshan told the police that he had once warned the contractor, but he continued to harass his wife. He then allegedly decided to kill Hitender. The police have also arrested Naveen and launched a hunt for the third accused. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
