School launches anti-plastic drive

MALAPPURAM: The students of M.P.A. U.P. School at Vadakkangara, near here, have launched a scheme against plastic by making paper bags in bulk to replace plastic carry bags in Makkaraparamba panchayat.

Shops will get the bags free of cost.

Collector M.C. Mohandas will inaugurate the distribution of the bags at a function at the school on Thursday morning. Malappuram municipal chairman Kiliyamannil Yakoob will inaugurate a waste treatment plant set up by the school in association with the municipality. — Staff Reporter
