NEW JERSEY: Sanish Joseph Pallippurath, who killed his wife and an unrelated man and wounded a third person in a church at Clifton, New Jersey, on Sunday morning, has confessed to the killings and said he would have killed all the worshipers if he had had a machine gun, the police said on Tuesday. Sanish (27) waived extradition after his arrest on Monday night at a motel in Monroe, Georgia, where he had fled by bus after the shootings at St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church. In his confession to the police in Georgia, Sanish said the Indian community was to blame for the breakup of his marriage to Reshma James, whom he wed a year ago, according to detective Capt. Robert Rowan of the Clifton Police Department. — New York Times News Service © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
