Narrow win for Trinity MHSS

Coimbatore: Trinity MHSS scored a three-run win over Suburban MHSS in the CDCA under-16 inter-school cricket tournament for the TSS & Co. Trophy at the TNAU grounds here on Wednesday.

Earlier, Sathya Sai notched up a three-wicket win over Vidya Vikasini.

The scores: Trinity MHSS 78 for six in 20 overs bt Suburban MHSS 75 in 15 overs, Vidhya Vikasini 75 for eight in 20 overs lost to Sathya Sai MHSS 76 for seven in 14.3 overs.

Corporation wins

Corporation Municipal HSS (Ramanathapuram) defeated St. Joseph’s HSS (Ondipudur) 4-2, via tiebreaker, in its opening fixture of the BAT Trophy football tournament at Christ the King Polytechnic College grounds in Othakkalmandapam here on Wednesday.

The results: Corporation Municipal HSS bt St. Joseph’s (Ondipudur) 4-2 (via tiebreaker), GHSS (Annamalai) 1 bt Saravajana HSS (Peelamedu) 0.

Vignesh, Vidya prevail

At Udumalpet, K.S. Vignesh Bharathi of Kongu MHSS and S. Vidya of Vivegam MHSS clinched the under-17 boys’ and girls’ titles in the one-day chess tournament, organised by the Archetypal Chess Academy, at the Srinivasa Vidyalaya School premises recently.
