Rain claims two lives

TIRUCHI: Heavy rains claimed the lives of two women besides a milch cow in different places in the district on Wednesday. Police sources said M. Meenakshi (51) was filling water at Alampattipudur when the compound wall of a temple collapsed on her killing the woman on the spot.

The Inamkulathur police have registered a case. In another incident, D. Gnanamani (45) was electrocuted when she stamped a live electric wire that had snapped at Melakrishnapuram near Lalgudi. The milch cow belonging to the woman was also electrocuted. The Lalgudi police have registered a case.
