Medical assessment camp for the disabled

TIRUCHI: Special medical assessment camps for physically disabled persons, for the issue of national disability identity cards, would be held in various places in the district from December 1 to 5, Collector T. Soundiah has said.

In a Press release, Mr. Soundiah said disabled persons with over 40 per cent disability would be identified through the camps for issue of the identity cards through the District Disabled Rehabilitation Office.

The assessment camps would be held at Government Adi Dravida Girls Higher Secondary School at Kattu Pappakurichi on December 1; Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Manapparai on December 2; Arignar Anna Girls Higher Secondary School, Thuraiyur, on December 3; Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Musiri, on December 4 and at Government Boys Higher Secondary School at Lalgudi on December 5.

The camps would be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and all disabled persons are requested to avail the opportunity.

The identity cards was mandatory for availing government welfare schemes for the disabled.

Disabled persons, who wish to attend the camp, have to bring three passport size photographs and copies of ration cards.
