SBH posts thumping win over Hyderabad Sporting

HYDERABAD: State Bank of Hyderabad drubbed Hyderabad Sporting 7-0 in the SAAP Budweiser Premier League football championship at the Gymkhana Grounds here on Thursday.

SBH took the lead in the very first minute when striker Akbar latched on to a corner-kick to find the target. Thereafter mid-fielder Vimal struck twice (3-0) and Johnson headed home a corner-kick to make it 4-0 at half-time. In the second session Zaki and later Akbar and Khaja struck once each to complete the tally.

Corporate table tennis

The third Andhra Bank corporate and inter-institutional table tennis tournament will be held from Dec. 6 to 7 at Anandnagar Welfare Association Sports Academy (Khairatabad). Competitions will be held for men in singles and doubles. Entries close by Dec. 3 and for details call 93466 94713.

ZPHS wins

Zilla Parishad High School (Trimulgherry) defeated Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) 5-3 via tie-breaker in the Archbishop Arulappa Memorial Challenge Cup football tournament at Trimulgherry Ground.

Anurag Thapa netted for HPS and Shiva Kumar for ZPHS. At the end of the match the score was 1-1.

In the tie-breaker, D. Prashanth, M. Prakash, A. Shiva Kumar and Raghu scored for the winner while Anurag Thapa and Vinod scored for HPS.
